You’re moving into a home with home security devices
A new home may come with a security system. All the devices work, are hung in the best areas, and are ready to go. In this instance, just turn on the phone to call and establish a new contract. A Vivint installer will still come to your home to make sure there are no integration problems, and they might offer suggestions on where you should replace bad outdated components. It's a preliminary visit, and you can have your alarm monitoring set up without having a bill for any new components -- unless you add on.
The old owners can give an existing Vivint contract to you for a one-time set-up cost to make the transfer simpler. If the previous owners are downsizing to an apartment complex or smaller home, transferring the security service might be an addendum of the sale.
You want to move and bring your old equipment with you
You may want to bring your existing home security components with you to your new house when you move. That’s pretty easy to do, as most components are portable. You can uninstall each alarm or camera yourself or use a Vivint expert to take down the system. Then our installers will put in the same devices -- and any smart devices you want to add -- in the new place. The home security contract will keep the same.
